Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School live on-campus in student homes (approximately 8–13 students per home) and provide care, mentorship, supervision, and support to foster academic, emotional, and social development. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning development and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and maintaining a nine-days-on, three-days-off duty cycle before transitioning to a placed-houseparent role with a consistent student home. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768) with total compensation per couple around $168,000, relocation assistance, comprehensive insurance options, retirement plans, paid time off, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- willingness for two-person married couple requirement
- Capability to drive student home vans and become certified to do so
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children in the student home
- Proselytizing restrictions: must not violate Judeo-Christian chapelAttendance rules while on duty
