Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples to live and work in Milton Hershey School student homes, providing supervision, mentorship, and a structured, family-like environment for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing household budgeting and reporting. Initially, couples will support multiple homes with a nine-on/three-off cycle before transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role with a consistent student home. Opportunities include relocation to Hershey, PA, comprehensive benefits, paid training, and relocation assistance. Requires a two-person, married-couple application process, high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to drive student vans, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse marital status for consideration
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
