Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School, residing on campus in a student home with 8–13 students, responsible for daily supervision, mentorship, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and participating in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, budgeting and household reporting, with an eventual transition to a placed houseparent living with the same group. Requires a legally married couple, both aged 27+, high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA. Includes relocation assistance, paid training, comprehensive benefits, and on-campus housing. The role emphasizes creating a structured, family-like environment supporting students’ academic, emotional, and social development.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Relocation assistance provided
- Full-time on-campus housing and meals included
