Job Summary
Two-person Full-Time Flex Houseparent role on Milton Hershey School campus in Hershey, PA. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning to a placed houseparent. The position requires a legally married couple, both spouses age 27+, a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and relocation assistance is provided. The role combines on-campus housing with a family-like environment focused on students’ academic, emotional, and social development, with a schedule of nine days on duty followed by three days off, and eventual placement with the same student group.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Proven integrity and professionalism; role-modeling for students
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- No alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
