Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist for Milton Hershey School: a two-person Full-time Flex Houseparent role on campus in Hershey, PA, where married couples live in student homes, supervise and mentor 8–13 students, manage daily routines, administer medications, transport students to activities, lead devotions and Sunday Chapel, and oversee budgeting and reporting. Initial schedule is nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement into a single student home. Includes relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits; requires two-year married status, ages 27+, high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and experience with youth in a structured, faith-informed campus setting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
