Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples living on campus as Flex Houseparents to supervise and guide about 813 students in on-campus homes. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and attending Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent role living and working with the same group of students. Relocation assistance, paid training, and comprehensive benefits are provided. Requires two-year married couples, both spouses age 27+, high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to drive student vans, and commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; prior youth experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Willingness to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Committment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Proselytizing prohibited; can lead devotions and attend chapel
