Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist responsibilities include supervising and mentoring a group of 8–13 students in on-campus homes, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from nine-days-on/three-days-off rotation to a stable placed houseparent role. This two-person, fully supported role requires a legally married couple (both spouses 27+), willingness to reside in-school, provide care and guidance consistent with the program’s expectations, and to participate in relocation support and extensive benefits. The position emphasizes youth development, safety, faith-based activities, and professional conduct within a structured residential environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of marriage (both spouses)
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Willingness to participate in daily devotions and chapel
- Comfort with driving students to activities
- On-campus residence as houseparents
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- Ability to follow schedules (9 days on, 3 days off)
- Ability to supervise and mentor students
