Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for a two-person married couple living on campus as Flex Houseparents in a student home. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship of 8–13 students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from a nine-days-on/three-days-off schedule to a placed houseparent placement living with the same group of students. Requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license (with ability to become certified to drive student home vans), willingness to participate in relocation, and comfort with a faith-based, Judeo-Christian environment. Both spouses must be legally married for at least two years, be age 27 or older, and meet safety and child-care expectations for supervising minors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-year marriage requirement for both spouses
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Proven integrity and professionalism with role-model responsibilities
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Capability to supervise a household of 8–13 students
- Comfort leading daily devotions and accompanying students to chapel services
Additional Requirements
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet restrictions: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
