Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes with a group of approximately 8–13 students, providing care, supervision, mentorship, and support to foster academic, emotional, and social development. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, managing schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and adapting to a nine-on/nine-off style initially, then transitioning to a placed houseparent role with same student group. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two spouses must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations as defined (fish and one dog of approved breeds)
- Proven integrity and professionalism
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- willingness to lead daily devotions and participate in Sunday Chapel
- Capacity to reside in on-campus student homes and manage household routines
- Planned transition to placed houseparent role
- Ability to participate in full-time, nine days on / three days off schedule
- Relocation to Hershey, PA and on-campus housing provided
