Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role focused on living-in care for 8–13 students in on-campus homes. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving to activities, planning and participating in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and managing budgeting/household reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; role transitions into a Placed Houseparent living with the same student group. Requires two-person, married-couple staffing, high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license and ability to drive student vans, and willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA with relocation assistance available.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse requirement: both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel participation
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
