Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist for married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for approximately 8–13 students, and engage in daily supervision, mentorship, activities planning, medication administration, transportation, and spiritual activities. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement as Placed Houseparents living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person ($46,917), comprehensive health insurance, retirement options, relocation assistance, paid training, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
