Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples serving as Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Live on-campus in student homes to supervise and mentor 8–13 students, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and engage in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and accompany Sunday Chapel, and oversee budgeting and household reporting. Initially work nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement in a single student home. Includes relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, medical/dental/vision, retirement options, and paid training. Requires two-person, married-couple eligibility; on-site, on-campus housing and a family-like environment focused on students’ academic, emotional, and social development.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
