Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist for two-person Flex Houseparent team at Milton Hershey School. Purpose-built on-campus roles caring for 8–13 students in a family-like home environment. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel attendance, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and maintaining a structured, supportive home. Initially rotating through multiple student homes on an alternating 9-on/3-off schedule, with eventual placement in a consistent student home. Requires relocation to Hershey, PA, and full-time commitment from both legally married spouses; benefits include relocation assistance, comprehensive insurance, retirement options, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-spouse, legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- No alcohol permitted on duty
- Compliance with safety and campus rules
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA and reside on-campus
- Ability to lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel
- Comfort with driving and transporting students
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Two-person collaboration and joint applications by both spouses
