Job Summary
Flex Houseparents (two-person married couple) reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School to provide care, mentorship, supervision, and support for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, medication administration, transporting students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role after an initial nine-days-on, three-days-off cycle. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible role with relocation assistance and paid training; couples receive housing and meals on duty.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and attending chapel
- No more than three dependent children in student home
- Committment to smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Relocation assistance provided
- Placed Houseparent transition after nine days on / three days off schedule
- Experience with youth (volunteering acceptable)
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Pro-life about Judeo-Christian services (proselytizing prohibited)
- High school diploma or GED required
