Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents on Milton Hershey School campus. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, provide supervision and mentorship to a group of ~8–13 students, manage household routines, administer medications, drive students to activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and reporting, and progress from nine consecutive days on duty with three days off toward a placed houseparent arrangement with the same student group. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license with ability to become certified to drive student vans, and must be legally married for at least two years (both spouses age 27+). Relocation assistance and paid training provided; benefits include medical/dental/vision, savings options, life/disability, PTO, and housing/meal provisions. The role emphasizes a structured, family-like environment to support student development and well-being in a campus setting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations (fish and one dog of approved breeds)
- Two-person role for couples
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA on occasion as part of role
