Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for a two-person, married-couple team serving as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students daily, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from a flexible multi-home assignment to a placed houseparent with a consistent student group. Requires working a 9-on/3-off schedule initially, relocation assistance provided, and comprehensive benefits; high school diploma or GED required, valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and ability to meet two-spouse employment requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-spouse two-year marriage minimum
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading daily devotions and attending Sunday Chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children residing in the student home
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Ability to work as a two-person team for a on-campus residential role
