Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role at Milton Hershey School for married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents on campus in Hershey, PA. Couples reside in student homes, supervise and mentor 8–13 students, manage household routines, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan developmental/recreational activities, lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel, handle budgeting and reporting, and transition from nine-on/three-off duty to a placed houseparent arrangement. Requires two-person, legally married couples (both spouses aged 27+), high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and adherence to smoke-free/weapon-free campus rules. Relocation assistance and paid training provided; comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision, retirement options, PTO. Salary is $46,917 per person (approx. $180,000 total compensation per couple) plus housing and meals on duty.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
