Job Summary
Two-person, on-campus Flex Houseparent role for Milton Hershey School where a married couple resides in a student home (8–13 students) and provides supervision, mentorship, and daily care. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading development and recreational activities, daily devotions and Sunday Chapel attendance, budgeting and reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement as a consistent Houseparent in the same student home; relocation assistance and paid training are provided. Requires a high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and eligibility for dual-employment by a married couple; both spouses must be at least 27 years old, and the role emphasizes housing, meals, and benefits in a campus setting.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-spouse role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses aged 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
