Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents living in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring a group of ~8–13 students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, guiding daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. The position starts with a nine-on, three-off schedule and can transition to a placed houseparent living arrangement with the same student group. Compensation includes $46,917 per person with comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance; requires a two-person, legally married couple, both applying individually, and adherence to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-year married pair as two-person role
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Commitment to a safe, weapon-free campus environment
- No more than three dependent children in home
- Proselytizing restriction: daily devotions and Judeo-Christian chapel
- Two-person role requiring both spouses to apply individually
