Job Summary
Two-person Flex Houseparents (married couple) at Milton Hershey School. Responsibilities include supervision and mentorship of 8–13 students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. Initially support various student homes with a nine-on, three-off duty cycle, then transition to a placed houseparent with a consistent student home. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license with eligibility to drive student vans, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and compliance with campus policies (smoke-free, weapon-free, no alcohol). Must be legally married for at least two years, both spouses age 27 or older, and up to three dependent children allowed in the home. Relocation assistance and paid training provided; compensation per person is $46,917 with total family-package value around $180,000.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
