Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples serving as Full-time Flex Houseparents on Milton Hershey School's on-campus homes. Couples reside with 8–13 students, providing supervision, mentorship, daily routines, medication administration, transportation to activities, and leadership of daily devotions and Sunday Chapel. The position starts with a nine-on / three-off schedule and transitions to a placed houseparent role living with the same student group. Includes relocation to Hershey, PA, and comprehensive benefits and housing. Requires two spouses who are legally married for at least two years, both aged 27 or older, High school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and compliance with campus rules including no alcohol, smoke-free and weapon-free environment, and approved chaplain-like duties.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse, legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
Additional Requirements
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
