Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Residents live in on-campus student homes, providing care, supervision, and activities for ~8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting, and household reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person, relocation assistance, comprehensive insurance, retirement options, paid time off, and housing/ meals. Requires two spouses, legally married for at least two years, both aged 27+, and high school diploma or GED; valid driver’s license and ability to drive student transportation. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-spouse role must have both spouses complete individual employment applications
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
