Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist (two-person, married couple) at Milton Hershey School to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents in on-campus student homes, providing daily supervision, mentorship, and care for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing household budgeting and reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent role living and working with the same group. Must be a legally married couple, both spouses 27+ years old, with a high school diploma or GED, and possess a valid U.S. driver’s license; ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-year married for at least two years
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Two-person role for couples
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA (relocation provided)
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
