Job Summary
Two-person married-couple role serving as Full-time Flex Houseparents at a residential school. Couples reside in on-campus student homes (approx. 8–13 students) and provide supervision, mentorship, and support to foster academic, emotional, and social development. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and maintaining a family-like home environment. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent role living and working with the same group of students in their own home. Benefits include salary per person (~$46,917), comprehensive insurance, retirement options, relocation assistance, paid time off, and training. Requires two-year married couples, both spouses 27+, high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to drive student vans, and adherence to campus safety and conduct policies. Relocation to Hershey, PA is required; positions are full-time and on-campus with live-in responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
