Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparents live on Milton Hershey School campus in Modoc, IN, supervising and mentoring a group of 8–13 students. They provide care, supervision, and support, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions, and accompany students to Sunday Chapel. The schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent role living with the same group of students. Relocation assistance is provided, and the role requires a high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license, the ability to drive student vans, lifting up to 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke- and weapon-free campus. The position is a two-person, married-couple role and requires both spouses to apply separately; salary is $44,768 per person plus benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role-model expectations
- Relocation to on-campus housing at Milton Hershey School
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
