Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for a married couple serving as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, providing care, supervision, guidance, and a structured family-like environment for 8–13 students, including supervision, daily routines, medication administration, transportation to activities, development/recreational planning, and leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel. Initially nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to aPlaced Houseparent role living and working with the same group of students. Salary per person is $44,768 with comprehensive benefits and relocation support. Requires high school diploma or GED, U.S. driver’s license, and willingness to obtain van-driving certification; commitment to campus policies and two-person married-couple employment; relocation assistance provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
Additional Requirements
- Need to be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
