Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist couples reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School, providing care, supervision, and development support for a group of about 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing routines, administering medications, driving to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, with an initial nine-consecutive-days-on duty followed by three days off before transitioning to a placed houseparent role with the same student group. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768) with total compensation around $168,000 per couple, relocation assistance, comprehensive health benefits, paid time off, and training. Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-spouse partnership (two-person role)
- Married for at least two years
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- No alcohol on duty; weapon-free campus
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
