Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes to provide care, guidance, supervision, and development support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from nine-days-on/three-days-off duty to a placed houseparent living with the same student group. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Willingness to reside on-campus in student homes
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must complete individual applications
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- No alcohol permitted while on duty
- Campus is smoke-free and weapon-free
