Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist for two-person, married-couple role (Flex Houseparents) at Milton Hershey School. Responsible for supervising and mentoring 8–13 students in on-campus homes, managing daily routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel services, budgeting and reporting, and creating a structured, family-like environment to support students’ academic, emotional, and social development. Initially rotating across student homes on a fixed nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule, with eventual placement in a consistent student home. Includes relocation support and comprehensive benefits; requires two individually completed applications by both spouses and a valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Any additional state-specific background checks or clearances as required by MHS
