Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring a group of 8–13 students in on-campus homes, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and budgeting/household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent role living and working with the same student home. Includes relocation to Hershey, PA and comprehensive benefits. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and demonstrated integrity; couples must be married for at least two years and both spouses aged 27+. Relocation assistance and paid training provided. Intended for two-person, on-campus housing roles with a focus on student development and well-being.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and accompanying Sunday Chapel
- Two-person role for legally married couples
- Couples must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children in home
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
