Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparents (married couple) reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School to supervise and mentor a group of 8–13 students, manage household routines and schedules, administer medications, transport students to activities, plan and participate in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and reporting, and transition to a Placed Houseparent role with same students. The role follows a nine days-on, three days-off schedule during initial placement, with long-term duties in a family-like, structured environment focused on students’ academic, emotional, and social development.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two spouses must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- No alcohol permitted while on duty
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- Pet limitations (fish and one dog of approved breeds)
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
