Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparent role at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside on-campus in student homes, providing care, supervision, and guidance for 8–13 students, including daily supervision, scheduling, medication administration, driving to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting, and household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; later transitions to a placed houseparent living with the same group of students. Relocation to Hershey, PA is required; benefits include comprehensive health coverage, retirement options, paid time off, and relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Two-spouse employment applications required (both spouses must complete individual employment applications)
- Two years minimum marriage for consideration (for couples)
- Ability to lead students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
Additional Requirements
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Relocation to Hershey, PA required
- On-campus residency with students in homes
