Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist (Flex Houseparents) – two-person, on-campus live-in role for a married couple at Milton Hershey School. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring 8–13 students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, conducting daily devotions and chapel attendance, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from flexible to placed houseparent. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement in a consistent student-home assignment. Benefits include salary per person, full medical/dental/vision, retirement options, relocation assistance, paid time off, and comprehensive training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
