Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist for Milton Hershey School in Hershey/Sanger, CA area (two-person flex houseparent couple) living on campus to supervise 8–13 students in a family-like home. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and following a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule with eventual transition to a placed houseparent living with the same student group. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Desire to work with youth in a residential setting
Additional Requirements
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
