Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School, providing care, guidance, supervision, and development support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role with the same group of students. The role includes nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with on-campus housing and comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance. Relocation to Hershey, PA is required. Both spouses must complete individual employment applications for consideration.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Comfort leading students in devotions and chapel services
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
Additional Requirements
- Couples must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds
