Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples serving as Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Couples live on-campus in student homes (8–13 students) and provide care, supervision, and development-focused activities. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentoring, medication administration, managing household routines, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting, and household reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement as a Houseparent living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person, relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, paid time off, and housing/ meals eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- No alcohol on duty; smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- Commitment to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Relocation assistance provided
