Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, supervising ~8–13 students, mentoring, coordinating routines, administering medications, driving to activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting. Initially nine days on, then three off, with eventual placement in a single student home. Includes relocation to Hershey, PA, comprehensive benefits, and paid training. Requires two-person, legally married couple (both must apply), high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, no alcohol on duty, and compliance with campus safety rules. Location-specific requirement to relocate to Hershey, PA. Salary $44,768 per person (approx. $168,000 total per couple with benefits). Relocation assistance provided; paid time off. Two-person role for couples; both spouses must complete individual applications to be considered.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
