Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents live in on-campus student homes with a group of approximately 8–13 students, providing care, guidance, supervision, and support; responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and coordinating Sunday Chapel, budget oversight, and transitioning from initial nine-on-nine duty cycles to a placed houseparent role; position includes relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits, with a focus on creating a structured, family-like environment that supports academic, emotional, and social development.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
