Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person, married-couple role) live in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School, supervising a group of 8–13 students and supporting their academic, emotional, and social development. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent role living and working with the same students. Relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, paid training, and housing are provided; the position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license, the ability to lift 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
