Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents reside on Milton Hershey School campus to supervise and mentor 8–13 students in a home setting. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent living with the same group of students. Relocation to Hershey, PA is required. Benefits include a per-person salary of $44,768 (approximately $168,000 total per couple with housing and meals), comprehensive medical/dental/vision insurance, retirement options, relocation assistance, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Both spouses must be legally married for at least two years
- Each spouse must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA for the role
