Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist (Flex Houseparents) for Milton Hershey School. A two-person, married-couple role residing in on-campus student homes to provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentorship, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting and planning activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from flexible to placed houseparent. Requires full-time commitment, relocation to on-campus housing in Hershey, PA area, and adherence to campus rules and lifestyle expectations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
