Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist (two-person, married couple) at Milton Hershey School. Live in on-campus student homes as Full-time Flex Houseparents, providing care, supervision, mentorship, and structured routines for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising daily activities, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in development and recreational activities, leading daily devotions, accompanying Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and routine reporting, and transitioning to a placed houseparent with a consistent home for a chosen group of students. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license with potential to become certified to drive student home vans, ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and a commitment to a smoke- and weapon-free campus with limited alcohol. Must be legally married for at least two years and both spouses must be 27 or older; relocation assistance and paid training provided. Paid time off offered. Location: Burnsville, MN, USA.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
Additional Requirements
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
