Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparent role for married couples at Milton Hershey School. Residents live in on-campus student homes and provide care, supervision, mentorship, and structured activities for groups of ~8–13 students, including daily supervision, medication administration, driving to activities, planning and leading developmental/recreational activities, daily devotions, and Chapel attendance. Initial schedule is nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement in a single student home. Requires relocation to on-campus housing; benefits include salary per person (~$44,768) with total compensation for a couple around $168,000, plus comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance. Must have a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to drive student vans, and be part of a legally married couple for at least two years with both spouses aged 27 or older. Couples must complete individual applications for consideration; no more than three dependent children in the home. Pro-social, smoke-free, weapon-free campus environment and Judeo-Christian chapel participation are part of the role.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- High school diploma or GED required
- Willingness to relocate to on-campus housing in Hershey, PA
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role models for students
