Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparent team for Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, supervise and mentor about 813 students, manage household routines, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and lead developmental/recreational activities, and lead daily devotions with Chapel attendance. After an initial nine-on, three-off schedule, team moves toward a Placed Houseparent role living and working with the same student group. Includes relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and housing/meal provisions; requires two-year married status, age 27+, high school diploma or GED, and valid driver’s license with ability to certify to drive student vans.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver\'s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Two-spouse role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Proof of integrity and professionalism in student role modeling
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA for on-campus housing and duties
- Capacity to supervise and mentor a group of approximately 813 students
- Ability to drive and plan student activities
- Comfort leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Chapel
- Planned transition to Placed Houseparent role after initial period
- On-campus housing included as part of compensation
- Relocation assistance and paid training provided
Additional Requirements
- Both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
