Job Summary
Two-person role for married couples to reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School, providing daily supervision, mentorship, and care for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising routines, administering medications, transporting and planning activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting, and sustaining a structured, family-like environment. The position begins with a nine-on, three-off duty cycle and transitions to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same students. Requires experience with youth, a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke-/weapon-free campus; both spouses must be legally married for at least two years and at least 27 years old. Relocation assistance and paid training are provided, along with comprehensive benefits. Utilizing a two-person team, this role emphasizes mentorship, discipline, and supportive partnerships to foster students’ academic, emotional, and social development.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-spouse/partners must apply individually
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Residence in on-campus student homes with a group of 8–13 students
- Cooperative, family-like home environment management
