Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparents role at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA. Couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for approximately 813 students in a family-like setting. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and ensuring student wellness. The position starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement as a Houseparent living and working with the same group of students. Relocation assistance and paid training are provided, along with comprehensive benefits. Consideration requires both spouses to complete individual applications.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-spouse role for legally married couples for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. drivers license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
