Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person married couple) reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School to provide care, supervision, and guidance for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and housing reporting, and coordinating a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule with a transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person plus full benefits and relocation assistance. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, and eligibility for drive-certification, plus a two-spouse, married-for-at-least-two-years arrangement and compliance with campus policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol during duty
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Proven integrity and professionalism; role modeling for students
- Completed individual employment applications by both spouses
