Job Summary
Flex Houseparents (two-person, married-couple role) reside on Milton Hershey School campus to supervise and mentor a group of 8–13 students in a family-like home. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement as a Houseparent living and working with the same student group in their own home. Eligible couples receive relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Two-spouse role requires both spouses to complete individual applications
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Chapel services
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
