Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparents position at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA. The role involves living in on-campus student homes with a group of approximately 8–13 students, providing daily supervision, mentorship, and care; managing household routines and student schedules; administering medications; driving students to activities; planning developmental and recreational activities; leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel; overseeing budgeting and reporting; and transitioning to a placed houseparent role over time. Requirements include experience with youth, a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license with ability to drive student vans, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke- and weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty. The position is a two-person role for legally married couples, with relocation assistance provided. Training and relocation support are included, and compensation totals around $168,000 per couple when housing and meals are included, with a per-person salary of $44,768 plus benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
