Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparent roles at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA. Couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, mentorship, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students, fostering a structured, family-like environment to promote academic, emotional, and social development. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from a nine-on/three-off schedule to a placed houseparent arrangement with the same student group. Benefits include salary per person of $44,768 (total compensation per couple about $168,000), comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, paid training, and PTO.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lead students in daily devotions and accompany them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel (proselytizing prohibited)
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- This is a two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
